Accretion is our first ever stout! This beer is based on a absolute ton of flaked oats, and several carefully sourced specialty malts. The goal was a thick, smooth oatmeal stout and showcases coffee, cacao nibs and maple syrup in a delicate way. This is not an imperial stout, but rather a stout that draws inspiration from big beers, while retaining the qualities of lower ABV stouts. We spent several days dosing coffee from our friends at Just Coffee in Roskilde, cacao nibs from Nicaragua that we toasted by hand and Canadian maple syrup. The aroma is like your weekend breakfast of pancakes and coffee. This beer finished at 9 plato, which is almost a much as some imperial stouts, but it doesn't have the cloying sweetness of bigger beers. Contains lactose.
