Family-owned business What began as a family business run by four brothers now operates like a well-oiled machine. We are passionate about good beer and innovation, always eager to learn and improve. We strive to understand quality and brew beers that make people smile. Four Dutch brothers, fresh out of technical school, wanted to prove to their father that they were the best at everything, especially brewing. After a failed first attempt at brewing with what the Dutch call "slootwater", they persisted. They experimented with different styles and ingredients. Their dedication led to the creation of the very first Moersleutel Barrel Blend, an imperial stout that marked the beginning of their journey. Eager to improve their creations, the brothers continued to refine their beers to give them even more flavour. This is how Moersleutel Craft Brewery became what it is today. PS: Mum and Dad are still happily working at the brewery! And brothers Max and Tom now run an engineering company called Zomerdijk Engineering, which builds machines for breweries.
