Kitchen Brew
To enrich the regional and Swiss beer scene with exciting beer styles from a wide variety of beer cultures around the world. To brew full-bodied beer styles – often still unfamiliar to us all – in a balanced and accessible way. To allow highly aromatic hop varieties to unfold their full, fascinating aroma. At the same time, we aim to give our beers the best possible stability. This has been our daily motivation from day one. We’re often asked what craft brewing actually means. We’re happy to reply: brewing in an innovative, imaginative and high-quality way. Following a six-month journey across the USA, exploring the North American craft beer scene, Fabian Ehinger created his first original recipes in 2012 in a disused kitchen right in the heart of Basel city centre, using a 25-litre microbrewery. KITCHEN BREW. After several years of guest brewing at breweries in and around Basel, KITCHEN BREW found a home of its own in 2016 at Binningerstrasse 101 in Allschwil near Basel, within the exciting world of drinks run by Peter Oppliger and his family. To ensure consistent quality in the long term, we have invested in top-quality brewing and bottling equipment. A 10 hl brewhouse enables us to brew a wide variety of beer styles all year round. We are constantly developing innovative brewing techniques, such as dry hopping, tailored entirely to our needs.
