Frequently asked questions
- How does the person receive the card?
- By e-mail, as soon as your payment clears. The message carries the code and the card itself as an A5 attachment, ready to print. So you can either forward the e-mail or print the card and slip it into an envelope. The second option looks far more like a present.
- Does it have to be spent all at once?
- No, and that is deliberate. The code keeps its balance from one visit to the next: if the card is worth CHF 100 and the order comes to 60, there are still 40 left for next time. Nothing is lost until the balance runs out.
- How long does the card stay valid?
- One year from the date of purchase. There is therefore an expiry date, spelled out on the card and in the e-mail, and the balance stays visible online until then.
- Where can the remaining balance be checked?
- Online, at any time: the card carries a QR code that leads straight to the balance page, with the remaining amount and the validity date. The e-mail carries the code. No account, no password, it does all the work.
- Does it really work at the shop and at the bar?
- Yes, the same code works everywhere: on the webshop, at the shop till and at the bar counter, rue de la Tour 14 in Lausanne. Show the code and we take it like any means of payment.
- I have left it until the night before. Still doable?
- Absolutely. The card goes out by e-mail as soon as the payment clears, not the next morning: order at 11pm, print the card straight away, and you are sorted. It is the most honest last-minute rescue we have.
- Is the card refundable?
- No. The card is not refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. It is there to pay for beer, online, at the shop or at the bar, not to be cashed in.
