Every year since 1997, we’ve picked out the year's finest hops and malts to make a special Vintage Ale. In 2016, alongside classic British hops, we elected to use the aromatic Nelson Sauvin variety from New Zealand – and it instantly makes its presence felt alongside the warming alcohols and rich malt character long associated with the series. The result is a smooth, rich, and deliciously different Vintage Ale – a successful union of home-grown and far-flung ingredients.
Londres, Greater London - Angleterre La bière est fabriquée dans le sud de Londres depuis plus de 350 ans, datant de l'époque d'Oliver Cromwell. À l'époque, il était assez courant pour les grands ménages de brasser leur propre bière. À la fin des années 1600, une de ces brasseries privées se trouvait dans les jardins de Bedford House sur Chiswick Mall. Un autre, bien plus humble, opérait à proximité du chalet de Thomas Urlin. A la mort d'Urlin, la propriété passa à sa veuve et à son gendre, un monsieur nommé Thomas Mawson, qui intervint pour prendre les rênes en tant que directeur. C'est lui qui a jeté les bases d'une grande entreprise brassicole - en achetant le George Public House et deux cottages adjacents pour 70 £, puis en achetant plus tard la brasserie à Bedford House. Thomas Mawson est toujours à l'honneur aujourd'hui à travers le Mawson Arms, le pub situé sur le site de la brasserie.
