Innerleithen, The Scottish Borders - ScotlandThe Traquair Brewery dates back to the early 1700s and was originally a national brewery serving the house and the estate. It was decommissioned in the early 1800s but never dismantled. She gradually filled up with family garbage until she was completely forgotten.Peter Maxwell Stuart rediscovered the brewery in the early 1960s and began brewing experimentally again in 1965 using all of the original equipment and fermenting the beers in the original oak casks, some of which had more 200 years old. Pictures were recently revealed showing Laird's 20th brewing with his daughter (the current 21st Lady of Traquair).
