This year, we wanted to try something different for our Piece of Cake series. When we started thinking about brewing a Tarte Tatin–inspired pastry stout, our brewers immediately suggested a style that would better complement those flavors: a pastry barleywine. So instead of brewing another imperial pastry stout, we created a pastry barleywine with a rich, full body and flavors reminiscent of a delicious Tarte Tatin pie. Think complex layers of maltiness, sticky caramel, biscuit, and apple. Perfect for sipping or as a dessert beer. Just delicious!
