Mazout is a Russian Imperial Stout from Hoppy Road, a microbrewery based in Maxéville near Nancy, named best craft brewery in France in 2020. At 12%, it pours jet black with a thick, viscous body. Its rich and complex malt base releases roasted aromas of coffee, dark chocolate and grilled malts, lifted by notes of candied fruit. The palate is broad and velvety, carried by a moderate bitterness that balances the overall power of this beer.
Maxéville, East - FranceAfter breaking the bank in 2015 during the Paris Beer Week amateur brewing competition, the two friends Julien and Lucas follow a training course (micro biology for one and Institute of Brewing and Malting for the other) before starting to look for a premises as a production unit.Looking for an extra member, the two friends joined forces with Charles Sanner to make their project a reality with a lot of concrete! Hoppy Road Brewery set up shop on the banks of the Meurthe River and the first bottles came out of the brewery's tanks in June 2017.
