After 28 months of ageing in casks, this third iteration of Mazout Islay is both massive and elegant, temperamental and yet indulgent. Powerful notes of peat, almost reminiscent of hydrocarbons, blend with the richness and depth of ultra-dark chocolate, creating a highly complex aromatic landscape that invites you to savour it slowly and meditatively.
Maxéville, East - FranceAfter breaking the bank in 2015 during the Paris Beer Week amateur brewing competition, the two friends Julien and Lucas follow a training course (micro biology for one and Institute of Brewing and Malting for the other) before starting to look for a premises as a production unit.Looking for an extra member, the two friends joined forces with Charles Sanner to make their project a reality with a lot of concrete! Hoppy Road Brewery set up shop on the banks of the Meurthe River and the first bottles came out of the brewery's tanks in June 2017.
